Most universities ask for the same few documents. Usually you only need:

• A copy of your identity document
• Your transcript of grades (or your secondary school leaving certificate, if you have already finished school). Learn more

You can submit the application form without a test result – you upload it later. Through the Kastu platform you can apply to universities in 5 countries: the Netherlands, Belgium, Denmark, Finland and Sweden. One application form covers all countries – you can choose several programs in different countries at the same time. In total – more than 850 study programs!

Yes! We recommend choosing 2–3 programs (they can be in different countries) so you have more options. On the Kastu platform you can list several programs in one application form – there are no extra costs.

After you click “Submit application”, your form first goes to the Kastu team for review – the university does not receive it yet.

Within about two working days we check that the form is filled in correctly, that all required documents are attached and that you meet the admission requirements of your chosen programs.

If information is missing or something needs to be corrected, we contact you by email and explain clearly what you need to do. When the form is complete, we forward it to your chosen universities.

If no corrections are needed, your form is usually forwarded within two working days.

There is no single deadline for all universities. The decision time depends on the university, the program, the number of applications that year and the evaluation procedure. Some universities start evaluating applications right away, others wait until the application deadline has passed.

Typical response times by country:

• The Netherlands and Belgium: you usually get an answer within 1–4 weeks.
• Finland: you can usually expect an answer within two months.
• Sweden: the results date depends on the application round:
  • in the first round, if you apply by January 15, bachelor's results are published on April 8 and master's results on April 1;
  • in the second round, if you apply by April 15, results are published on July 9.
• Denmark: preliminary answers are usually published at the end of May, and final answers on July 28, after the university receives your secondary school leaving certificate.

As soon as the university makes its decision, you get a notification by email and SMS.

This does not mean your application process is over. To have more options, we recommend choosing several study programs at different universities and ranking them by priority before you submit the form. If you don't get a place in a higher-priority program, your next choice is considered.

Yes – in three of the five countries Kastu offers. For students with EU, EEA or Swiss citizenship there are no tuition fees in Denmark, Finland and Sweden. In Belgium the annual tuition fee is about €1,200, and in the Netherlands about €2,700.

Free studies mean you don't pay tuition, but housing, food, transport and other daily costs remain. Working while studying can cover part of these costs. In some countries you can also get government financial support – the conditions depend on the country.

No. All study programs you apply to through Kastu are taught in English. You don't need the local language – but after arrival you can join free language courses in many countries.
