Why study BSc(Hons) Paramedic Science?
Paramedics are multi-skilled professionals who work as part of frontline NHS ambulance teams responding to acute medical or traumatic emergencies. It's a physically and mentally demanding role involving the administration of emergency treatment and life-saving procedures in challenging conditions. The course will give you the knowledge and professional skills to meet the increasing requirement for ambulance services to provide a wider range of treatment options in an expanding role within the emergency and unplanned care environment.
Why study our course?
Offered as a unique collaboration with the South Western Ambulance Service NHS Trust, BSc(Hons) Paramedic Science is accredited by the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and leads to registration as a paramedic with the HCPC. As well as learning the theory of paramedic practice and studying the subjects that underpin it, you'll develop strong inter-professional and interpersonal skills, along with the problem-solving and decision-making skills required to deliver safe and effective care. With fully integrated work-based training and outstanding onsite facilities, our innovative and expansive curriculum is taught by a dynamic, supportive team with a depth of experience as practicing paramedics.
Real-world experience
Incorporating evidence-based learning and extensive use of simulation and role-play, the course provides close integration of academic study with clinical practical experience. Half your time will be spent on placements in a variety of clinical settings working with paramedics and other healthcare professionals in the NHS ambulance service and acute hospitals. In the second year you'll undertake a placement with the Hazardous Area Response Team and train alongside student nurses and trainee fire-fighters to build strong inter-professional skills.

Paramedics are in demand across the UK and there are many exciting career opportunities in a variety of emergency and urgent care roles. There are a number of specialist paramedic positions that graduates can consider later, including paramedic practitioner and critical care paramedic.

Pavyzdys.: Jeigu stojimo reikalavimuose parašyta: AA-level subjects: Grade C or above in Mathematics plus a pass in one of the following subjects: Biology; Chemistry; Computing/Computer Science; Design and Technology; Electronics; Engineering; ICT; Further Maths; Music Technology; Physics; Statistics. You must have a minimum of two A-Levels, tuomet reiškia, kad turi turėti pažymį 7 iš matematikos ir bent iš vienos išvardintos disciplinos.
(Grade C reiškia 7 ir Grade B reiškia 8).
Svarbu, jog anglų kalbos testo rezultatai universitetą pasiektų iki Liepos 31d.

Successful completion of the course will allow you to practice as a paramedic in a range of emergency and urgent care environments in both the NHS and private healthcare sectors.
