This course integrates the key areas of accounting and financial management within a business context. You will enhance your expertise in decision-making about financial resources. You will also develop fresh approaches to solving problems at work, integrating knowledge from a variety of topics.

This route is based at the University of Sunderland, which makes it distinct from the route based at study centres: Accounting and Financial Management (Top-Up) via Study Centres or flexible learning: Accounting and Financial Management (Top-Up) by Flexible Learning. It takes a minimum of nine months and a maximum of three years. You can study full-time or, if you prefer, part-time to fit around existing commitments.

Sunderland has a great reputation in business studies, with The Guardian University Guide 2012 ranking us as the no.1 business school in the North East. In addition, 85% of business graduates from Sunderland enter employment or further study within six months of graduating, based on figures from the Destination of Higher Education Leavers Survey 2010.

As a student on a top-up year, you’ll qualify for our MAPS (Making Achievement Possible at Sunderland) programmes. These integrate support for study skills and future employability and are provided by our team of full-time Student Academic Advisors.

There are two start dates for this course: September and January. For more information please see the entry requirements page.
