Would you like to learn how to make ads more effective and memorable? Or what helpful information pupil size gives us, for instance when someone is driving or operating a machine? Or how a computational model of memory can be used to develop an app to study more efficiently?

In the Applied Cognitive Neuroscience (ACN) master, you will gain knowledge and skills that will allow you to work as a researcher in academia or in a company. Your knowledge and skills can be used to address fundamental or applied research questions, help in prevent cognitive errors and improve human functioning.

Graduating from ACN equips you with in-demand skills for both academia and business. For example, you will be able to:

  • analyze human data as a data scientist or analyst
  • measure and enhance marketing effectiveness
  • design, implement, and test human-friendly systems
  • evaluate and improve traffic safety

And, most importantly, you will gain a deeper understanding of the human mind.

    ACN graduates are well prepared for research careers as including PhD positions at universities and private (Philips, Unilever, memorylab) or government (ministries, TNO) , or in NGO (SWOV) sectors.

    About 40% have research positions in academia or industry, or continue with a research master's to prepare for a PhD position.

  • Data analyst/scientist

    Around 20% of ACN graduates work as ata analysts in companies, health care, or in government organizations.

  • Sofware developer

    Some graduates enter the domain of software development, ranging from website development and programming to evaluating and improving user experience.

  • Consultant

    ACN-graduates also work as consultants, advising companies and government NGOs about the latest developments in applied cognitive neuroscience in areas like human-computer interaction and neuromarketing.
