Applied Mathematics

If you want to use abstract mathematics to tackle real-world challenges, the international Bachelor's degree in Applied Mathematics at the University of Groningen will prepare you with the skills to make a difference in science and technology.
This three-year international Bachelor's programme in Applied Mathematics focuses on using mathematics to understand and simulate how systems behave, whether you're working on vehicle dynamics, energy networks, or biological processes. You'll learn how to translate real-world challenges into abstract mathematical models, formulate theorems and proofs about the properties of those models, and draw useful conclusions. In your first year, you take the same courses as students in the Mathematics programme. This gives you a solid foundation and flexibility to decide which direction to take without study delay.

What you’ll learn in the Applied Mathematics Bachelor

Anglų kalbos žinias gali patvirtinti vienu iš šių būdų:
- TOEFL iBT: overall score 90 (min. 21 in every category) - MyBest Scores are not considered in the Admissions procedure.
- IELTS (Academic): overall score 6.5 (min. 6.0 in every category) - We do not accept IELTS Online and One Skill Retake certificates.
- Cambridge C1 CAE or Cambridge C2 CPE Certificate with a min. score of 180
Sufficient background knowledge in Mathematics is required.
