Do you want to help develop the technical society of the future? Then a BEng in Software Technology might be something for you.
Software is everywhere today, and has a big influence on the way we go about our lives. Software engineers create software that supports corporate business and connects software and physical equipment. Software development is becoming an increasingly large and important part of our society, and there is a great need for software engineers.
As a software engineer, you can, for example, help develop software that connects humans and automation technology, so that manufacturing can be made smarter and more economical.
What will I learn?
With a BEng degree in Software Technology, you will gain skills that enable you to develop software systems, maintain software for various software platforms, advise on and work to get the software to match the user's needs, lead the development of IT projects and much more. You will have the opportunity to test your skills on company cases and collaborate directly with the industry.
During the programme you will, among other things, learn about automation and systems that help people control and monitor automatic systems such as production plants in factories or treatment plants, you will also learn to develop systems and apps for e.g. smartphones, IoT devices and computers. You will be taught in subject areas such as system development, programming, databases, mathematics, web technology and communication as well as management.
Existing programming skills are not required to apply the programme, as the programme includes an introductory course in programming. At the start of the programme, it is assumed that many new students have no prior in-depth experience with programming.

UniTest – SDU reikalauja išlaikyti stojamąjį egzaminą, kurį išlaikyti būtina norint sėkmingai pateikti paraišką. Testas vyksta internetu kovo/balandžio mėnesiais (apie registraciją universitetas informuos iš anksto). Testas skirtas skaitymo supratimui ir loginio mąstymo įgūdžiams įvertinti.

Vienu iš šių būdų galite patvirtinti universitetui savo anglų kalbos žinias:
Anglų kalbos valandos - bendras išklausytas anglų kalbos valandų skaičius 10 + 11 + 12 klasėje būtų bent 210 astronominių valandų bei anglų kalbos pažymys ne mažesnis kaip 5.
Jei valandų nepakanka, anglų kalbos žinias galima patvirtinti Cambridge C1 Advanced egzamino sertifikatu, kuriame surinkta ne mažiau kaip 180 taškų.
- Anglų kalba - bendras išklausytų valandų skaičius turi būti 210 val.
- Matematika - bendras išklausytų valandų skaičius turi būti 375 val.
- Fizika - bendras išklausytų valandų skaičius turi būti 200 val.
Pastaba:
1. Jeigu tau trūksta iki 10% reikalingų valandų – vis tiek gali stoti ir būti priimtas į šią studijų programą. Pavyzdžiui, jei reikalaujama 200 fizikos valandų, o tu turi tik 180 valandų – gali stoti ir būti priimtas.
2. Jeigu tau trūksta daugiau nei 10% reikalingų valandų – taip pat gali būti priimtas, bet tokiu atveju reikėtų papildomai lankyti trūkstamo dalyko kursus ir surinkti trūkstamas valandas. Dėl detalesnės informacijos apie kursus susiek su mumis.
What does the programme lead to?
Overall, Software Engineers deal with development, planning, consulting, sales and project management.
You can, among other things, get jobs in the software industry, the pharmaceutical- and food industry, with utility- and energy companies, with production companies that, for example, manufacture components for electrical cars, hospital equipment or thermostats.
Your knowledge of software development for physical equipment is in demand, when, for example, production companies must integrate software systems.
As a software engineer you can, e.g., work in:
- Development and maintenance of software systems
- Consultancy on the choice of technology when introducing new software systems
- Implementation of feasibility study and specification of software systems
- Planning of the architecture of larger software systems
- Project management in connection with the introduction of new software systems and operation of software systems
You can both get a job with private and public companies or choose to start your own company.
