Changing health and nutrition recommendations and global environmental issues set demands for the food industry to develop new, healthier foods sustainably.

The Master’s Programme in Food Processing Technology focuses on processing technologies and unit processes used in food manufacturing. In this programme, you will acquire knowledge and skills essential in the renewal of the food processing industry and in the development of novel food processes.

The programme covers mechanical and thermal processes used in food processing, but also fermentation, novel extraction methods, the rheology of liquids, suspensions, and particulate materials in food processes. 

During your studies, you will learn to create new sustainable solutions as a response to major global challenges. You will learn to create, design, and develop new technology and to work in an international team.

Teaching in this master's programme has been planned in cooperation with industry representatives, who are committed to providing real-life topics for projects and theses and offer internship positions for students.

During your studies, you will acquire:

  • knowledge of modern and future food processing technologies
  • skills in developing sustainable solutions and technologies for future sustainable food processes        
  • a professional network through practical assignments and teamwork on projects with industrial companies
Reikalaujamas išsilavinimas

Į magistro studijų programas gali stoti visi, baigę universitetą arba besimokantys paskutiniame kurse. Studijos kurias baigei ar tebesimokai turi būti panašios krypties kaip ir tos, į kurias nori stoti, kadangi priėmimas yra paremtas ECTS kreditų suderinamumu.

  • ECTS kreditų išrašas - jei dar nesi baigęs aukštosios mokyklos, būtina prisegti ECTS kreditų išrašą, kuriame būtų matyti, kokius dalykus Tu mokeisi bei kokius pažymius ir kiek kreditų už juos gavai. Kai siunti anketą paskutiniame kurse, diplomą reikia prisegti vėliau, kai tik jį gausi. ĮSIDĖMĖK, Prie anketos būtinai turi prisegti dokumentą (anglų kalba), patvirtinantį, kad studijuoji ir šiais metais baigsi savo studijas. Dokumentas turi būti patvirtinas universiteto administracijos.

  • Bakalauro diplomas – jei jau esi baigęs aukštąją mokyklą, išrašo nereikia, užtenka prie anketos prisegti savo Bakalauro diplomą.

 

Pastaba! Stojant į šio universiteto programas yra reikalingas geras bakalauro studijų įvertinimas, vidurkis turėtų būti 7 ir daugiau. Šie reikalavimai yra orientaciniai ir galutinį vertinimą ar turimų pažymių pakanka atliks LUT universiteto priėmimo komisija.

Anglų kalbos reikalavimai

SVARBU! Anglų testo sertifikatas turi būti pateiktas iki 2025m. vasario 1 dienos.
 

Anglų kalbos žinias gali patvirtinti vienu iš šių būdų:

  • IELTS – 6.5

  • TOEFL - 90

 

Svarbūs reikalavimai

To be eligible to apply to the programme, you must have completed:

  • a minimum of 24 ECTS credits of previous studies supportive to Food Processing Technology, Chemistry, Food Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or Food Technology.

These studies must be completed in one or two of the following groups of universities:

  • a University, all countries
  • a University of Applied Sciences, EU/EEA countries and Switzerland

Work experience relevant to the programme and the field will be considered in the selection process.  

Applicants must include their certificates of employment to the work experience they have listed. The certificates must indicate whether the job was full-time or part-time and the percentage of part-time compared to full-time (100%). 

Certificate of employment is an official document from your employer specifying

  • the starting date of your employment,
  • the date of termination of your employment, or an indication if employment is continuing,
  • the nature of your work, e.g. job description, duties, and responsibilities.

It must also include the name and contact details of the employer and be signed or electronically authenticated by the employer.

You may find employment as a specialist, process engineer, laboratory manager or development engineer in the food industry or manufacturing and technology companies focusing on food processes.

You can also find jobs in research institutes, where you can develop novel and sustainable processes and technology for future food processes.

Moreover, you will obtain a firm basis to continue your studies in doctoral programmes at the university.
