This is a degree that will prepare you for working in the media industries; even before you graduate, you will have experience of working in a live Radio situation, record on-air TV studio work and will study TV and Radio Production with practitioners from the industry in a modern, hi-tech environment. The skills you learn will enable you to turn your ideas into actual projects. Alongside practical study, you will learn the key themes and issues in television and radio.

Whilst undertaking Radio Production you will make full benefit of the Universitys on air community radio station Radio LaB 97.1fm. The course is very hands on and practical in its nature. You will learn the basic skills of production in the first year; extend these to short features and on air news in the second year and in the final year make a series of radio programmes in small production teams, some of which will be broadcast. You can get involved in Radio LaB 97.1fm and the University online Television channel throughout your course.

Television Production will help prepare you to enter the exciting television industry. Many of our Television graduates go on to production and technical jobs in television, film and new media, radio, commercial and corporate sectors of the industry. Students have secured jobs on high profile shows including, Britains Got Talent, The X Factor, Masterchef Australia, The Door, Family Food Fight, Britains Best Dish, Ideal World Shopping Channel, Comic Relief, Dancing on Ice, Peep Show, Derren Brown, The Real Hustle and Supernanny.
