This course builds on your existing skills gained through a diploma, or equivalent, in an area related to banking, finance and business. The content of the course covers subjects such as financial markets, international banking, financial management, and money and finance.

Sunderland has a great reputation in business studies, with the Guardian University Guide 2012 ranking us as the no.1 business school in the North East. 85% of business graduates from Sunderland enter employment or further study within six months of graduating, based on the Destination of Higher Education Leavers Survey 2010.

The quality of teaching at Sunderland Business School has also gained wide recognition – for example we achieved the highest level of student satisfaction with teaching of business and management studies in the North East, according to the Guardian University Guide 2012.

As a student on a top-up year, you’ll qualify for our MAPS (Making Achievement Possible at Sunderland) programmes. These recognise that you may have had a gap between finishing your diploma, or equivalent, and starting the top-up year. They integrate support for study skills and future employability and are provided by our team of full-time Student Academic Advisors.

There are two start dates for this course: September and January. For more information please see the entry requirements page.
