INTERNET SCIENCE & TECHNOLOGY

Do you want to set to work as a cyber-architect helping self-driving cars and traffic systems to communicate safely and effectively? Or as an Internet security specialist, devising ways of detecting botnets before they cause damage? Or do see yourself building a 'Trusted Internet' system that stays up and running under the heaviest cyber-attacks?

Our Master's programme Internet Science & Technology will equip you to become a creative expert at understanding, maintaining, securing and developing communication systems and cyber-physical systems. Think, for example, of 4G, 5G, Wi-Fi or other wireless networks, the 'cloud', Internet of Things (IoT) systems or ad-hoc networks – such as the constantly changing networks between autonomous vehicles or an emergency network in a disaster area.

STUDYING AT THE FRONTLINE OF TECHNOLOGY

Among the most important technological breakthroughs in the near future will be those involving the connection of networks and systems. Throughout this Master's programme you will learn how to build, maintain, secure and improve these interactive intelligent systems in a creative, technically responsible way.

A MASTER'S PROGRAMME LIKE NO OTHER

The Master's programme Internet Science & Technology at the University of Twente is one of very few specialized programmes in the field of communication systems – and the only one of its kind in The Netherlands. With this degree you will join a very select group of specialists worldwide equipped to build, maintain, protect and improve the architecture of interactive systems. In addition to that, you will also have plenty of room for your personal interests and preferences. You can deepen your understanding of certain sub-areas, work on your own entrepreneurial skills or, for example, cross over into the social sciences or a social theme, such as energy, mobility or healthcare.

RUBBING SHOULDERS WITH THE WORLD’S BEST

In the field of communication systems, the University of Twente – like the Netherlands – features among the world’s very best. We are one of the leading players in the field of Internet security research and education (think of DDoS, or Distributed Denial of Service attacks). Our research institute CTIT specializes in researching Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in a societal context – a great platform for our distinct cross-disciplinary.
